The Michigan Sea

Well I'm still out on the road (in Marion, IN tonight), but we did finish one portion of the trip when we left Orchard Beach State Park near Manistee, MI. Lake Michigan never ceases to amaze me. It is the ocean come to visit the inland. And as I have been known to say from time to time, "there ain't no lake like a Great Lake."

  1. It really looks like the ocean! I live near lake Garda which is famous because it is is windy and so clean, and there are waves. It's a perfect place to do every kind of water sport but the beach are cobblestones beach, no sand if not in very small areas. Ohhhh, I want to live by the water.

  2. Ha! I heart the sandal tan! I worked as a camp counselor on the Chesapeake Bay for a summer and had a pair of Tevas that gave me some definite tan-line love. You're right, though: there is just something about the Great Lakes...
