It's Summer Folks

You guys, it's finally summer! Thank goodness for sunny days and rainy nights, farmer's markets, camping and getting to read whatever book I want. Finally.

Nate and I celebrated by going on a backpacking adventure for a night last week and then spending the weekend with friends in Bozeman for a frisbee tournament. I've also been in the process of moving out of my house and into a small apartment downtown- a feat that's a little scary but mostly exciting.

But hopefully soon I'll be spending my days relaxing as much as I can, going for short runs to mend injuries from frisbee and trying to convince myself to get on my bike in preparation for RATPOD again.

Hoping everyone is having a tremendous spring and looking forward to summer as much as we are!

In the Bush

Here's the last batch of my photos from Africa. These were all taken in Botswana, we had four days of safari adventures and saw how incredible the continent really is. I have to say, the best part of the trip was seeing all the baby elephants. You've never seen cuteness until you've seen a knee-height baby elephant stumbling in the mud.

Cape Town and Sisters

Only a few pictures from Cape Town...we spent just 2 days here to visit my sister because she was heading off to Ghana soon after. But wow, I would love to visit again. It's such a beautiful city, Table Mountain framing the back and then the sea in front. The Two Oceans Marathon was going on while we were there so my sister and I ran a fun run, an 8k through the beautiful streets.

These pictures are from a while back but here's the best news ever: my sister came home last night! She's made her way around the world, starting in Japan and ending in Spain, and now she's back in Missoula. It's so good to have her back.

I Went to the Desert

Holy moles it's been a while since I've been on here. The month of March was absolute chaos with school, frisbee and taking a week off for spring break with my family. I was lucky enough to visit my twin sister who is studying with Semester at Sea and visiting Capetown, South Africa. After visiting her, I traveled with my brother and parents to Botswana and Namibia for a whirlwind tour of savannah and desert. Here is just a peek at a few of my pictures from Sossusvlei, Namibia. Soon, I'll collect up the rest of my pictures and share some more. This batch is from twilight on the last night of our trip, one of the prettiest nights we spent in Africa.

The City and the Sea

As spring break draws to a close, I wait for Miss Kelton to come home and I have time to go through my photos from my trip down to California last weekend. We made a trip into San Francisco and, although I'm not much of a city boy, there were some fun sights seen. There was also plenty of relaxing at my sister's house as well as on the coast. And I do love the ocean.

twobirdzoom

Yesterday morning brought a FedEx delivery to me containing my new 70-300mm zoom lens. I've only been able to take a few shots so far, but I'm really loving it. These quick little birds were no match for its autofocus and I can't wait to get some pictures of ultimate once the weather warms up. Stay tuned to your local public broadcasting station for more.

Knit Hats and Being Busy

We haven't been posting up here much. My school/work schedule is really taking a toll on the amount of free time I have. But last week, I made this knitting project into an excuse to take little breaks from homework. I finally learned how to cable knit and I love it.

We're both so ready for spring- every time it seems like it's just around the corner, Montana weather surprises us with another little snow flurry. Luckily, most of it doesn't stick so we've been happy to play some ultimate outside every once in a while. Now, we're just keeping our fingers crossed that spring days are around the corner and that we'll find a little more time to do the stuff we really like.
